Who We Are

Our Mission at Telos Leadership is to support leaders in creating more harmonious, creative, and happy workplaces so that they can more effortlessly achieve their goals and fulfill their deeper purpose in the world.

Why is this our Mission?

Simply put, we believe in the “Trim Tab Theory of Change”.

If you are not familiar, a Trim Tab is basically a miniature rudder at the very end of the actual rudder of a ship. Everyone knows of course that a rudder steers the ship, but the problem is that it’s sometimes hard to move a rudder against the pressure of fast moving waters. A Trim Tab doesn’t have this problem because of its minuscule size. So, making changes in the direction of the Trim Tab changes, relatively effortlessly, the direction of the rudder, which in turn changes the direction of the ship.

In a similar way, we believe that getting better at collaboration, skillful disagreement, and turning conflict into creativity in teams and companies is a good (and easier) starting place for getting better at those things in the world at large (and boy do we ever need more of these in world at large!). Specifically, we have found that collaboration and collaborative creativity are skills that can be learned and mastered (as opposed to something that you just have or don’t) and that we then tend to take those new skills wherever we go.

Oh, and building these skills also happens to make happy workplaces and moves us more rapidly towards our goals. Seems a bit like a Win/Win, eh?
